Zac Taylor

The quarterback position has been a nightmare in Denver ever since Peyton Manning retired. Zac Taylor, who is currently the quarterback coach for the Rams, would be the way to go if the Broncos hope to reverse that trend.

Taylor has been the unsung hero in the development of Rams quarterback Jared Goff. Sean McVay gets most of the credit, and rightfully so, but Taylor is the one who is responsible for the work behind the scenes. He’s only 35 and is said to coach with the same type of intensity that has made McVay so successful in Los Angeles.

Taylor was also the quarterbacks coach of the Dolphins during Ryan Tannehill’s best years in Miami. He’s already had two stints as an offensive coordinator, both in Miami and as the OC for the University of Cincinnati.

The Broncos have been in quarterback purgatory for three years now, with Trevor Siemian, Brock Osweiler, and Paxton Lynch all flaming out. They’re now paying an underperforming Case Keenum a steep salary, and there’s no immediate replacement in sight.

But, if Denver finds their quarterback of the future – whether it be through the draft of via trade – there likely wouldn’t be a better option to pair him with than Taylor.
