High Value SF

Players costing $6,250 or under

Jayson Tatum (at SA – $6,000): Needs 27.7 fantasy points. Tatum bounced back from a poor game against the Rockets with 34 fantasy points against the Grizzlies on Dec. 29. His scoring still isn’t there right now, but he’s too good of a scorer to think he’ll continue to struggle in this same manner. And the good news is that he’s doing other things to make up the value. Trust that the lid will come off the basket for him in this one. Diagnosis: High ceiling and he’s due a big scoring game after his recent struggles.

Andrew Wiggins (at NO – $5,900): Needs 27 fantasy points. Wiggins had 24 fantasy points against the Heat on Sunday. As always, he never lacks for shots. He’s just not a great scorer. The good news is that he gets the Pelicans on Monday. They are not a good defensive team and if there is a game where Wiggins can break out of his slump, maybe it’s this one. But make no mistake, he’s still a risk. Diagnosis: Risk, but a high reward and a good matchup.

Harrison Barnes (at OKC – $5,600): Needs 25.9 fantasy points. Barnes had 27 fantasy points against the Thunder on Sunday. He chipped in with rebounds, which was nice to see from him. I still really like him with Matthews out of the lineup because it means more opportunities for him to deliver. And he’s at a good salary given the minutes and chances he’ll get. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling due to the injury to Matthews.
