High Value C

Players costing $6,667 or under

Al Horford (at SA – $6,100): Needs 27.3 fantasy points. Horford’s minutes are down, which is a concern right now. He’s still producing solid outings, which is the good news. And his salary has dropped, making him easier to fit into your lineup. He does a bit of everything, but it’s reliable in one category. If his minutes go up, that would be better for his value. And this feels like a game where his minutes will be up. Diagnosis: Inconsistent, but playing well despite the lack of minutes.

Kevon Looney (at PHO – $4,200): Needs 18.8 fantasy points. Looney is a reliable option as a member of the Warriors starting lineup. He’s been over 20 fantasy points in his last five games. He’s probably not going to give you much more than that, but it’s something. If you’re looking to save money at the position and still get some value, he’s a good option. Diagnosis: Reliable.

Nene (vs MEM – $3,500): Needs 15.7 fantasy points. I’m not enamored with anyone else at the center position. Either take Looney or Horford or spend nothing and outright punt on the position. The good news for Nene is he does find ways to contribute, even in limited minutes. He’s unlikely to do much unless Capela suffers some kind of injury. Diagnosis: An option.
