Denver Nuggets New Year’s resolution — Consider major moves to go all in for playoffs

It’s Nikola Jokić’s team no question of course and he’s taken the Nuggets to the top of the West. That means he should be given whatever necessary to make the Nuggets a contender to take out the Warriors. Records aside, the Warriors will turn it up a notch in the playoffs and DeMarcus Cousins will be back by then. If the Nuggets hope to make this the year they go all the way, they should consider major moves. There may not be a ton of pieces out there but they may be past the point where counting on internal development to take them to the next level is enough.

Meanwhile, when Isaiah Thomas makes his on-court debut with the Nuggets, he should be seriously featured if fully healthy. The man was an MVP candidate not that long ago on the Celtics. Yes, Thomas has had hip surgery since then but it doesn’t mean he won’t return to what he once was. Fully make Thomas feel like he’s part of a system again instead of feeling on the outside looking in like on the Cavs and Lakers.
