FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – January 2, 2019
High Salary C
Players costing over $6,667
Karl-Anthony Towns (at BOS – $10,500): Needs 47.2 fantasy points. Towns has been over 69 fantasy points in his last three games. The Celtics are a good matchup as they’ve struggled against opposing centers all season. Towns is getting it done in all categories, which is a big reason why he’s producing these monster games. The Timberwolves are not good, especially on the road, but Towns is rolling right now. Diagnosis: Red hot, good matchup, and a high ceiling.
Julius Randle (at BKN – $8,500): Needs 38.2 fantasy points. Randle had 50.7 fantasy points against the Timberwolves on Dec. 31. Anthony Davis didn’t play in that game, which helped Randle’s value. But even with Davis in the lineup, Randle has been very good as the starter. And the Nets are a good matchup. Diagnosis: Reliable and if Davis doesn’t play, his ceiling gets higher.
Deandre Ayton (vs PHI – $7,900): Needs 35.5 fantasy points. If Embiid plays, I like him because this is a personal matchup for him and he dominated Ayton last time. But I still like Ayton as well because he’s shown improvement throughout the season and the Sixers are on a back-to-back. Ayton has been a quick study, which has me feeling good about his value heading into this game. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
