High Value C

Players costing $6,667 or under

Thomas Bryant (vs ATL – $6,600): Needs 29.7 fantasy points. Bryant was up to 40.5 fantasy points against the Hornets on Dec. 29. When the minutes are there, the production is not a problem. But there’s always a chance that his minutes decrease if he’s not producing. He should be able to produce against the Hawks because it’s the Hawks. Diagnosis: High ceiling but be wary of his consistent ceiling. Matchup is great.

JaVale McGee (vs OKC – $5,700): Needs 25.6 fantasy points. McGee returned to the lineup on Dec. 30 against the Kings and had 31.9 fantasy points. He’s been solid all season although his salary is maybe a tad too high. Still, he’s going to get numbers. Even if it’s not quite enough for value, he’ll continue to get numbers. The matchup isn’t great. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable to produce something and his ceiling is solid.

Alex Len (at WAS – $5,200): Needs 23.4 fantasy points. Len has been strong since joining the Hawks starting lineup. He was up to 34.4 fantasy points against the Pacers on Dec. 31. He’s been getting easy buckets in the paint and he’s shown the ability to chip in with assists. More importantly, he gets the Wizards. As long as he starts, you can take him with confidence. If he doesn’t start, his minutes aren’t quite guaranteed. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling as long as he starts.
