SALT LAKE CITY, UT – APRIL 03: Josh Hart /

High Value SG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Josh Hart (vs OKC – $6,500): Needs 27.5 fantasy points. Hart has produced in place of LeBron in the Lakers starting lineup. He was up to 38.9 fantasy points against the Kings on Dec. 30. It’s a tough matchup as the Thunder have a very good defense, but Hart does a bit of everything and there’s no denying just how good he is playing right now. Trust him to keep it up, even at the higher salary. Diagnosis: Tough matchup, but a high ceiling and red-hot.

Dennis Schroder (at LAL – $5,100): Needs 21.6 fantasy points. Schroder was down to 10.9 fantasy points against the Mavericks on Dec. 31. His value is becoming largely tied to his scoring, which is a bit of an issue. But with the Lakers having depth issues due to injuries, Schroder will be in a good position to take advantage of them. He’s also at a good salary given his usual minutes and opportunities. Diagnosis: Like the matchup and circumstances. Inconsistent, but a high ceiling.

Marcus Smart (vs MIN – $4,700): Needs 19.9 fantasy points. Smart has been down more often than not in recent games, but this is largely due to the circumstances. If Kyrie doesn’t play, the ball will be in Smart’s hands more often because Rozier isn’t the best at running the pick-and-roll. He’s averaging 26.1 fantasy points in his last three games against the Timberwolves. So it’s good circumstances and a proven matchup. Diagnosis: Take with confidence if Irving is out. But be wary if Irving plays despite it being a proven matchup.
