The Washington Redskins looked to be the class of the NFC East for most of the 2018 NFL season, as they got out to a lead, and were staying strong through the first half of the year. However, once starting quarterback Alex Smith went down with what could be a career-ending leg injury, the wheels fell off, and they could be in the market for a new signal-caller moving forward.

The 2019 NFL Draft is not loaded with quarterback talent, but as we said before, there are some guys who could end up being special at the next level. Will Grier was the best quarterback in high school before landing at the University of Florida, and while he has had a wild ride at the collegiate level, he could be a first round selection next April.

Grier ended up at West Virginia to finish up his college career, putting up great numbers for the Mountaineers, and developing as a passer. If the Redskins decide to draft a quarterback in 2019, Grier would be a nice fit for their offense, as he is a tough kid, and is smart enough to start right away.

Washington got an incredible effort from Adrian Peterson this season, who seems to have dipped into the Fountain of Youth. They have the pieces to be at least a Wild Card team next season outside of the quarterback spot, so it would make sense that the position would be the top priority heading into next season if Smith is done.
