Florida. Jachai Polite. 16. player. 87. . Edge

The Carolina Panthers were one of the hottest teams in football  to start the 2018 NFL season, as Cam Newton looked to be playing back at an MVP level. However, they seriously fell on hard times in the second half of the year, completely collapsing, and missing out on the playoffs after making it last season.

Newton had to be shut down towards the end of the season, as he was dealing with issues with his shoulder. He will likely be back to 100 percent when the season kicks off in 2019, and the head coach will be back too, as the team decided to bring Ron Rivera back for at least another season after a rough end to the year.

Carolina needs help on both sides of the ball, but one area they need to get significantly better heading into next season is on the edge. One player who can help them immediately is Jachai Polite from the University of Florida, who just recently declared himself eligible for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Polite is a guy who can replace the aging Julius Peppers, who continues to play at a high level, but it coming to  the end of his NFL career. The young man from Florida is an absolute blur off the edge, and can really help a Panthers team that will need to put more pressure on the quarterback, especially in the pass happy NFC South.
