2019 NFL mock draft: Giants take Dwayne Haskins
By Brad Weiss
The Cleveland Browns came very close to finishing the 2018 NFL season with a record above .500, as they had a chance to beat the Baltimore Ravens on the road in Week 17. While they failed to win the game, they definitely are trending in the right direction, and they look to have hit a home run with the first overall selection last April.
With that first pick, the Browns took Baker Mayfield, the Heisman Trophy winning quarterback from Oklahoma. Not only did he move into the starting role during the season, but he became the unquestioned leader of the franchise, and has taken the city of Cleveland on his back, much like LeBron James did during his time with the Cavaliers.
Mayfield and the team started winning when they fired Hue Jackson, who went to take a job with division rival Cincinnati. While Mayfield has all the talent in the world, he could use some more weapons in the passing game, and N’Keal Harry from Arizona State is a guy who could be an electric player at the next level.
Harry can take the lid off the defense, and Mayfield has the arm talent to make all the throws at the NFL level. This is a Browns team that could be in contention for the AFC North title in 2019, and as long as Mayfield continues to grow, and mature in his role, they will be in good hands moving forward.
