2019 NFL mock draft: Giants take Dwayne Haskins
By Brad Weiss
The Philadelphia Eagles only needed Carson Wentz to get injured again in order to make their run to the playoffs, which they accomplished in Week 17. Obviously, I am just joking, but what Nick Foles has managed to do the last two seasons is quite an accomplishment, and the ride will continue this weekend.
The Eagles needed to beat the Washington Redskins on Sunday, and for the Chicago Bears to beat the Minnesota Vikings, and both happened in Week 17. That meant that the Eagles secured a Wild Card, as Foles Magic led them to three straight wins to close out the regular season, and they will now take on those same Bears on Sunday.
While it has been an incredible ride, the Eagles will need more miracles to win the NFC, as they just do not have the defense to do so. They need help in the secondary, and they may want to spend their first round pick in April on a cornerback, with DeAndre Baker being a solid choice at No. 21 overall.
Baker is a guy who is going to come into the league and be very productive right away, as he has been one of the better corners in the SEC for the past couple of seasons. Philadelphia has a chance to shock the world again in 2019, but the likelihood is they will be a one-and-done, picking at No. 21, and getting an elite cornerback talent.
