2019 NFL mock draft: Giants take Dwayne Haskins
By Brad Weiss
The Houston Texans locked up the AFC South this past weekend, as they made quick work of division rival Jacksonville in Week 17. The Texans have gotten a terrific effort from both sides of the ball all season long, turning around their fortunes from a year before, and now will get to host a playoff game for the second time in the last three seasons.
The last time the Texans hosted a playoff game, they came away with the victory, as they beat a Connor Cook-led Oakland Raiders team. Their matchup this weekend will be against a much better quarterback in Andrew Luck, who has returned from injury to be one of the better quarterbacks in the league once again.
During the 2017 NFL Draft, the Texans traded up to get Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson, who was fresh off leading the Tigers to a national title win against Alabama. Since coming into the league, Watson has become one of the best young quarterbacks in the game, and will be playing in his first playoff game this weekend.
If they want Watson to be the answer at quarterback moving forward, they have to get better along the offensive line, and David Edwards from Wisconsin would be a nice fit. Edwards has been one of the best offensive tackles in college football for the past couple of seasons, and in Houston, he would have the opportunity to start right away, helping protect the Texans No. 1 asset.
