2019 NFL mock draft: Giants take Dwayne Haskins
By Brad Weiss
The Oakland Raiders final draft pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft would come at pick No. 27, and they should to bring in a player to add to the offensive side of the ball. During the trade deadline, the team traded away wide receiver Amari Cooper, who went to two Pro Bowls early in his career, leaving a huge void in the wide receiver group.
With their third of three first round picks, the Raiders could have the choice of some first round talent, even this late in round one, as guys like Marquise Brown from Oklahoma, and Kelvin Harmon from NC State could be available. Harmon is a guy who would fit in this Raiders offense nicely, especially if they decide to bring Jordy Nelson back for one more season.
Derek Carr had a fantastic 2018 NFL season, despite the fact that he had really no weapons in the passing game for most of the year. Oakland has their franchise quarterback in Carr, who passed for over 4,000 yards for the first time in his career, and did not throw an interception from Week 6-16.
Adding Harmon to the passing attack would be a nice weapon for Carr, who could also utilize 2018 seventh round pick Marcell Ateman, who played very well in year one. The Raiders have a long way to go to become a legitimate contender in the AFC West, but they have the cap space, and the draft capital to get it done in a hurry.
