2019 NFL mock draft: Giants take Dwayne Haskins
By Brad Weiss
The Los Angeles Chargers have been one of the best teams in the AFC all season long, and had a chance to lock down the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC Playoffs on Sunday. Unfortunately, the Kansas City Chiefs throttled the Oakland Raiders, winning the AFC West, and sending the Chargers to the Wild Card despite winning 12 games this season.
It has been a pretty impressing season for the Chargers on many fronts, especially at quarterback, where Philip Rivers continues to play at a very high level. They were winning games without Melvin Gordon and Keenan Allen in the lineup, and have had to spend the entire season without tight end Hunter Henry.
On the defensive side of the ball, Los Angeles has also had to deal with injuries, as star edge rusher Joey Bosa missed time in 2018. He is back now, and the defense is ready to roll, though they could stand to add some talent to that side of the ball with their first round pick in 2019.
One player who could help them in a big way is Christian Wilkins from Clemson, who has once again helped the Tigers to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. Wilkins is a guy the Chargers could plug in the middle of their defensive line in year one, giving them one of the more dominant groups in the division for years to come.
