2019 NFL mock draft: Giants take Dwayne Haskins
By Brad Weiss
The New England Patriots clinched the No. 2 overall seed in the AFC this past weekend, as they will get to host at least one playoff game in January. Tom Brady and company struggled to play consistent football at times this season, but when the team needed to win late in the year, they banded together, and will now start on another Super Bowl run.
In Brady, the Patriots have found an ageless quarterback, and while his career is likely coming to an end soon, he is not slowing down yet. He has had to deal with struggles at wide receiver, and a watered-down version of Rob Gronkowski, but has made plays when it counts, and will now head to the playoffs in search of his six ring.
When it comes time for the team to draft in the first round in April, it will likely be towards the end of the first round, as they will likely win their Divisional Round game inside Foxboro, where they are 8-0 this season. While they may not have the talent to make it back to the Super Bowl, you do not want to count out Brady in a win-and-in situation, so it could be the Pats playing February once again.
The Patriots defense was nothing to write home about this season, and they would be wise to use their late round pick on an edge rusher. Zach Allen is a guy who has dominated at getting after the quarterback at the college level, and in New England, he would have the perfect head coach in Bill Belichick to learn under.
