2019 NFL mock draft: Giants take Dwayne Haskins
By Brad Weiss
The Green Bay Packers ended their season with a real stinker against the Detroit Lions, as they were shut out by their division rival. They have a lot of work to do if they are going to get back to the top of the division, and the first plan of attack would have to be finding a head coach, and bolstering the defense.
Luckily for the Packers, they have two first round picks next April, as they swung a deal with the New Orleans Saints in the 2018 NFL Draft for their 2019 pick. Unfortunately for the Packers, the Saints are one of the best teams in football this season, which means the pick they got from them will likely come at the end of the first round.
With their first of two first round picks, the Packers should look to add a safety, as they traded away Ha Ha Clinton-Dix during the trade deadline. They can fill that void with Deionte Thompson, and with their second of two first rounders, they should look to add some talent to the edge of their defensive line.
Montez Sweat is a guy who should go in the first round next April, and if he continues to climb the draft boards, he could be picked in the middle of the first. However, if he is still available at No. 32 overall, the Packers would get an absolute steal, and teaming him with Thompson, they would add two, very young, and very talented pieces to their defense.
