2019 NFL mock draft: Giants take Dwayne Haskins
By Brad Weiss
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished the year at the bottom of the NFC South once again in 2018, and because of that, they ended up firing their head coach, Dirk Koetter. It had been a pretty rough run for Koetter at the helm of the Buccaneers, as he got inconsistent play up and down the roster, including at the quarterback position.
While Koetter is going to be out the door, the quarterback is not, as the franchise committed on Monday to former No. 1 overall pick Jameis Winston. In fact, whoever is brought in to be the next head coach will get the job under the knowledge that Winston is going to be the quarterback moving forward.
When it comes to the Buccaneers, they need help on both sides of the ball, but the hope is that Winston can rekindle some magic, and be the leader this team was hoping he would become. In addition, in order to survive in the NFC South, you need to be better in the secondary, and that is where they should focus their first round pick in April.
The best cornerback in this draft class is Andraez Williams, who was given the nickname “Greedy” during his time at LSU. He is as good as it gets in terms of shutting down one side of the ball, and has the hands to be a real playmaker at the next level. The Bucs need talent, and youth in the secondary, and Williams gives them both.
