High Value C

Players costing $6,667 or under

Mason Plumlee (at SAC – $5,000): Needs 22.5 fantasy points. With Millsap back, Plumlee’s minutes will continue to go down a bit. He’s still starting, which helps and his salary has dropped, which also helps. At this salary, he’s a reliable option and his ceiling is high because he might be better in shorter spurts. The matchup remains a good one. Diagnosis: Minutes will be there and I like him at this salary. He’s fairly reliable and again, the short bursts might work out better for him than the bigger minutes.

Kevon Looney (vs HOU – $3,900): Needs 19.4 fantasy points. Looney was down to 14.3 fantasy points in 13 minutes against the Suns. He played well enough against the Rockets in the playoffs last season, so my hope for him is that the minutes bounce back and his performance follows suit. He’s not going to hurt you at this salary and there’s a chance he produces something. Diagnosis: An option.

Pau Gasol (vs TOR – $3,900): Needs 17.6 fantasy points. Gasol played just five minutes against the Celtics on Dec. 31. But he had five rebounds, so that’s something. I don’t know if he’ll get many minutes in this game, but the Raptors frontcourt may lead to him getting decent minutes. Honestly, if you’re going to punt on the position, just punt on the position and save the extra hundred dollars. Diagnosis: Another option.
