FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – January 4, 2019
High Salary SG
Players costing over $6,667
Devin Booker (vs LAC – $8,800): Needs 37.1 fantasy points. Aside from a rough game against the Warriors, Booker has been very good during this stretch. The Clippers are down right now and Booker has been doing a little bit of everything. Scoring and assist numbers should not be an issue for him in this game. I trust Booker a lot right now with his role on the Suns and he remains at a good salary. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
D’Angelo Russell (at MEM – $7,700): Needs 32.4 fantasy points. Russell was up to 55.5 fantasy points against the Pelicans on Jan. 2. The matchup was good then and it’s not bad on Friday. While the Grizzlies have a good defense, they aren’t great against the position in terms of DFS. And Russell is running hot right now. Plus, the Grizzlies might swing on each other by the time the game is over. Diagnosis: Inconsistent overall, but a good matchup and high ceiling.
Donovan Mitchell (at CLE – $7,400): Needs 31.2 fantasy points. Mitchell has been solid yet unspectacular during this recent stretch. His value is largely tied to his scoring right now and he’s not scoring all that much. But he gets the Cavaliers on Friday. This should be a matchup where he has no issue scoring the basketball. And I think he’ll do more in other areas as well. Diagnosis: Love the matchup and his overall ceiling, but he’s a slight risk based on recent play.
