High Value PF

Players costing $6,667 or under

Derrick Favors (at CLE – $6,500): Needs 27.9 fantasy points. Favors has been over 34 fantasy points in his last two games. And now he gets to face the Cavaliers. He’s been an inconsistent option all season, but he’s running hot right now with his scoring and rebounding. The minutes should be there in this matchup and given the matchup, I have to trust that he’ll continue to put up strong numbers. Diagnosis: Inconsistent, but great matchup and a good ceiling.

Noah Vonleh (at LAL – $6,300): Needs 27 fantasy points. Vonleh was down to 28.3 fantasy points against the Nuggets on Jan. 1, but that was still a good game for his salary. Minutes still are not a concern and he gets a good matchup on Friday as the Lakers still have some issues with all their injuries. And now they’ll likely be down their starting power forward. Vonleh’s scoring should tick back up in this one and he’ll get the job done with his rebounding. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Thaddeus Young (at CHI – $5,900): Needs 25.3 fantasy points. Young has been consistent during this recent run. He hasn’t hit the ceiling he showed a couple of weeks ago, but he’s still turning in solid performances. The minutes are still there and his salary has dropped to a nice spot. If Turner is out, Young will have more opportunities to contribute. But even if Turner plays, he’s going up against the Bulls. He should turn in a strong game and be nicely over value in this one. Diagnosis: Reliable, great matchup, good ceiling.
