High Value PG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Derrick White (vs MEM – $6,400): Needs 27.5 fantasy points. White’s salary has continued to climb due to his recent play. He’s not quite as desirable as he once was, but I’m not enamored with any of the value point guard on Saturday. And I am enamored with the duo of White and Forbes. Even with White’s higher salary, the due will get you value. White does have the higher ceiling as a player, but his higher salary lowers it a bit. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling at this salary.

Elfrid Payton (at CLE – $6,200): Needs 26.6 fantasy points. Payton played 34 minutes against the Nets on Jan. 2 and finished with 33.9 fantasy points. People probably forgot how good he was early in the season before the injury. His minutes were up against the Nets, which indicates that he’s getting healthier. And now he gets the Cavaliers on a back-to-back. This should be a good game for Payton. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Bryn Forbes (vs MEM – $4,700): Needs 20.2 fantasy points. I just discussed Forbes when discussing White. Were you paying attention? Forbes, like White, is a reliable option. He’s easier to fit into your lineup due to his salary. Again, you can pair these two and feel confident about it. If you want another player, McConnell is a reliable option, especially if Butler is out. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.
