FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – Jan. 5, 2019
High Salary SF
Players costing over $6,667
Giannis Antetokounmpo (vs TOR – $12,400): Needs 52.1 fantasy points. The Bucks are on a back-to-back, but it’s not like they used much energy against the Hawks. Giannis and the rest of the Bucks should be well-rested in this game. Giannis had 51.8 fantasy points against the Raptors on Dec. 9. I expect him to be just as good if not better on Saturday. Diagnosis: Almost always reliable and a high ceiling.
Kawhi Leonard (at MIL – $10,200): Needs 42.9 fantasy points. And if you don’t quite like Giannis, you can always go with Kawhi. He’ll be better than he was against the Spurs, although it is concerning that his play has dipped so much recently. Not having Kyle Lowry is starting to become an issue for his DFS game. He had 46.6 fantasy points against the Bucks on Dec. 9. Like Giannis, he’ll be in for a similar if not better night. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
Kevin Durant (at SAC – $10,000): Needs 42 fantasy points. Durant’s numbers have been way down in recent games, mainly due to his lack of rebounds and assists. His scoring is consistent, but he needs to do more in other areas. This is the matchup for him to bounce back against because there will be plenty of rebounding and offensive opportunities. Diagnosis: Cold, but a great matchup. He’ll bounce back and at least get value.
