High Value PG

Players costing $6,250 or under

Fred VanVleet (vs IND – $5,400): Needs 25 fantasy points. VanVleet finally broke the seal against the Bucks on Saturday, finishing with 43.75 fantasy points. It was bound to happen at some point due to the minutes he plays and the team he’s on. The hope is that he remains in form in this game. The matchup is just as tough and it’s a back-to-back. But he still won’t lack for minutes and chances. Diagnosis: Inconsistent, but a high ceiling.

Dennis Schroder (vs WAS – $5,300): Needs 24.6 fantasy points. Schroder was down to 19.75 fantasy points against the Blazers on Jan. 4. He never lacks for chances or shots, he just hasn’t been scoring well lately. But now he gets the Wizards. If he’s ever going to come up with a big scoring game, this will probably be the game where he does it. The Wizards just aren’t good and their bench is even worse. Diagnosis: Same as VanVleet.

Dwyane Wade (at ATL – $4,800): Needs 22.3 fantasy points. While the two men listed above him may have higher ceilings due to the minutes, Wade is the more reliable option at the moment. He’s not playing the same minutes as Schroder or VanVleet, but his game is more steady. And the matchup is just as good as Schroder’s. He’s a solid option that isn’t going to hurt you and has a good ceiling. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
