DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – January 7, 2019
High Salary SF
Players costing over $6,250
Giannis Antetokounmpo (vs UTA – $11,400): Needs 52.1 fantasy points. It’s Giannis. He had 73.5 fantasy points against the Raptors on Jan. 5. The matchup is tough, but it’s Giannis. And with the Bucks coming off a loss, he’ll probably be just as good in this one. You always know what you’re going to get from him, especially at home. The Jazz can make games a slog, but they don’t have an answer for him. No team does. Diagnosis: Build around him with confidence. I like him even more than Harden on Monday.
Buddy Hield (vs ORL – $7,100): Needs 32.4 fantasy points. Hield was up to 48.25 fantasy points against the Warriors on Jan. 5. He’s shooting the ball extremely well and doing enough in other areas to boost his value. There’s always a chance that his shooting falls off, but I’ll continue to trust him, especially in this matchup. He’s been delivering for the better part of this season. Diagnosis: Typically reliable, good matchup, very high ceiling.
Tim Hardaway Jr (at POR – $6,500): Needs 29.6 fantasy points. His value is still largely tied to his scoring, which can be an issue. But he did chip in with rebounding against the Lakers, so that’s a positive sign. The matchup is a good one as the Blazers struggle against the position. He also had 46.75 fantasy points against the Blazers on Nov. 20. This is more of a gut feeling pick than anything. Diagnosis: High ceiling, but a risk. Going with my gut on this pick.
