DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – January 7, 2019
High Salary PF
Players costing over $6,250
Anthony Davis (vs MEM – $11,600): Needs 54.1 fantasy points. Davis had 50 fantasy points in 29 minutes against the Cavaliers on Jan. 5. The minutes should be up in this one because the Grizzlies will make things a lot tougher than the Cavaliers did. The matchup is tough overall, but there’s rarely a reason to doubt Davis. Especially this form of Anthony Davis. He’ll post his usual big numbers. Diagnosis: Very reliable, the ceiling is more limited due to the matchup.
Blake Griffin (vs SA – $8,500): Needs 39.7 fantasy points. Blake has been over 49 fantasy points in his last three games. I don’t know what to make of the Pistons right now, but Griffin is carrying his weight, at least in fantasy terms. The Spurs are a tough matchup and typically do a good job eliminating the top option on the other team. And Blake is definitely the top option. Diagnosis: Tough matchup, but Griffin is rolling right now and someone has to produce for the Pistons.
Aaron Gordon (at SAC – $6,700): Needs 30.6 fantasy points. I typically don’t like Gordon because he’s all over the place. And he’s been up-and-down in his recent games. But I love this matchup. The pace of the Kings should favor a player like Gordon. He’ll be able to get up-and-down the court, get his points and rebounds and he’s done well with his assist numbers during this recent stretch. He should be reliable and I expect more in this game. Diagnosis: Inconsistent, but I love this matchup and he has a high ceiling.
