FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – January 7, 2019
High Salary PG
Players costing over $6,667
Damian Lillard (vs NY – $9,200): Needs 39.4 fantasy points. Lillard had 43 fantasy points against theRockets on Jan. 5. His scoring hasn’t been there as of late, but he’s doing plenty with his passing. And it’s not like he lacks for shots. He gets the Knicks on Monday. If his scoring is going to rebound, this feels like the game he’ll do it in. Trust his passing to still be there while he bounces back with a strong scoring game. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
Kyrie Irving (vs BKN – $9,000): Needs 38.5 fantasy points. Kyrie hasn’t played since Dec. 31, but he should be back for this one. He was playing very well prior to the injury and I trust he’ll return to form. He hasn’t missed too much time, but obviously rust could be a factor. The Nets are on a back-to-back, which should help Kyrie’s cause on Monday. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling. I think he’ll be looking to make up for lost time in this one.
Jamal Murray (at HOU – $7,700): Needs 33 fantasy points. Murray has been up-and-down all season. With the Nuggets getting healthy, his role is limited a bit. But he typically raises his game in these big matchups. The Rockets are better, but still have defensive issues. I trust Murray pick up his scoring in this one and for his rebounding and assist numbers to continue to be there. Diagnosis: Inconsistent, but a good matchup and high ceiling.
