High Salary PG

Players costing over $6,667

Russell Westbrook (vs MIN – $11,800): Needs 50.5 fantasy points. It was another rough shooting night for Westbrook, but he still had 54.5 fantasy points against the Wizards on Jan. 6. At this point, you know what you’re getting with Westbrook. Even on bad shooting nights, he does enough in other categories to at least get you value. And if he’s actually scoring, the ceiling is the roof. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a very high ceiling.

Steph Curry (vs NY – $10,400): Needs 44.5 fantasy points. The Knicks are on a back-to-back and Curry is rolling. The only concern in this game is a blowout. Otherwise, it should be a pretty easy night for Curry. He’ll get his scoring numbers and do enough in other areas to at least get you value. But again, this could turn ugly and he may not get the minutes to produce the numbers he needs to. Diagnosis: Only issue is a potential blowout. Otherwise, take with confidence.

Jeff Teague (at OKC – $7,200): Needs 30.8 fantasy points. Teague has been over 40 fantasy points in less than 30 minutes in his last two games. I don’t know what to expect from the Timberwolves with Thibs gone, but I do subscribe to the “fired coach” theory. And Teague is playing very well right now. The Thunder defense is good when they want to be, but I’m going to trust Teague with his recent play and the circumstances. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
