2019 NFL mock draft: Josh Allen heads to the 49ers
By Brad Weiss
The Kansas City Chiefs held on in Week 17, as they were able to beat the Oakland Raiders, and lock down home field advantage throughout the AFC Playoffs. The No. 1 overall seed in the conference, the Chiefs will take on the Indianapolis Colts in the Divisional Round this weekend, looking to win their first playoff game with Patrick Mahomes under center.
It has been an incredible season for Mahomes, who is in his first season as the starting quarterback for the team. During the 2018 NFL season, Mahomes threw for over 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns, and is one of the favorites to win the Most Valuable Player Award. Quite an accomplishment.
While the offense shined early, especially Mahomes, they struggled once Kareem Hunt was suspended. They will have to get it right this weekend, as they will be taking on a Colts team that is one of the hottest in football, and has one of the best quarterbacks in the league in Andrew Luck.
Luck should have no problem moving the ball through the air against the Chiefs secondary, which is the area they should target with their first round pick in 2019. Amani Oruwariye from Penn State is definitely a first round talent, and with Kansas City, he would fill the role that was left vacant when Marcus Peters was traded to the Los Angeles Rams this pas offseason.
