DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – January 9, 2019
High Salary SF
Players costing over $6,250
Giannis Antetokounmpo (at HOU – $11,100): Needs 50.7 fantasy points. Giannis is Giannis. I actually like him more than Harden because the Rockets defense isn’t nearly on the level of the Bucks defense. Giannis will get his points and come away with rebounds. I could also see him looking to make a statement in the MVP race here. A motived Giannis is an extra scary Giannis. Diagnosis: Always build around Giannis with confidence.
Ben Simmons (at WAS – $9,100): Needs 41.8 fantasy points. Simmons had 41.75 fantasy points in 28 minutes against the Wizards on Tuesday. Trust that the Wizards aren’t complete trash again and that they make the game more competitive when they are at home. Even in limited minutes, Simmons has shown that he can at least get you value. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling if the game is competitive.
TJ Warren (at DAL – $7,100): Needs 32.4 fantasy points. Warren was down to 29.5 fantasy points against the Kings on Tuesday. His value is still largely tied to his scoring, which is concerning. But he doesn’t lack for shots, which helps. The Mavericks aren’t a great defensive team but are better at home. I still like him with Booker out and am willing to give him this game. Diagnosis: High ceiling, but a tad inconsistent.
