DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – January 9, 2019
High Salary PF
Players costing over $6,250
Anthony Davis (vs CLE – $11,500): Needs 53.8 fantasy points. It’s Anthony Davis. He had 50 fantasy points in 29 minutes against the Cavaliers on Jan. 5. Even in a blowout, he can post a big game. And this one could be a blowout with the Cavaliers being on a back-to-back and the Pelicans being at home. Still, it’s Anthony Davis. And if the game is somehow competitive because the Pelicans defense doesn’t show up, Davis will have a huge game. Diagnosis: Reliable in a blowout and a very high ceiling if the game is close.
Blake Griffin (at LAL – $9,000): Needs 42.1 fantasy points. Griffin has been good for the Pistons as of late, even if the Pistons have not been good. It’s his return to Staples but won’t have quite the same meaning to him. The meaning won’t matter, but the matchup does. I expect Griffin to have a strong game given the Lakers frontcourt issues. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
John Collins (at BKN – $7,200): Needs 33.7 fantasy points. Collins had 44.5 fantasy points against the Raptors on Tuesday. It’s a back-to-back for the Hawks, but I’m not too concern about Collins. He always plays with energy and the Nets are weak against opposing frontcourt players, especially with all of their injuries. Collins should have no issue getting his points and rebounds in this one. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
