High Salary SF

Players costing over $6,667

Giannis Antetokounmpo (at HOU – $11,800): Needs 49.6 fantasy points. Giannis had 53 fantasy points against the Jazz on Jan. 7. Much like Harden, you can take him with complete confidence. I expect the two stars to battle in this one. Giannis won’t match Harden in scoring, but he’ll do more with his rebounding. And it’s not like Houston’s defense has an answer for him. Sorry, PJ Tucker. Diagnosis: I like him slightly more than Harden, largely due to the salary.

Brandon Ingram (vs DET – $6,900): Needs 29 fantasy points. Ingram had 45.6 fantasy points against the Mavericks on Jan. 7. He’s been all over the place this season and I honestly don’t have a great read on him. The ceiling is high, especially with LeBron out. But he can also bottom out at a moments notice. The Pistons aren’t good so maybe this is another strong game for Ingram. He’s most definitely a risk because he’ll have a great game and then be invisible the next. Diagnosis: Opportunities are there, but he’s wildly inconsistent.

TJ Warren (at DAL – $6,700): Needs 28.2 fantasy points. I liked Warren prior to Tuesday’s games and of course he underdelivered. But your options are limited with all the injuries. His value is still largely tied to his scoring and while he’s a good scorer, he just needs to do a little more to be a worthwhile addition. The Mavericks are a better team at home and the Suns are on a back-to-back, which is always a bit concerning. Diagnosis: Good ceiling, but there are red flags.
