High Salary PF

Players costing over $6,667

Anthony Davis (vs CLE – $12,500): Needs 53.6 fantasy points. The only concern is this one being a blowout. Davis still managed 53.5 fantasy points in 29 minutes against the Cavaliers on Jan. 5. The Pelicans are at home and playing well, so Davis’ salary might be too rich to give you the value you desire. But even if it turns ugly, he’ll be a strong player. Diagnosis: Reliable, but a blowout could keep him from reaching his ceiling.

Blake Griffin (at LAL – $9,200): Needs 39.4 fantasy points. Blake continues to play well and had 45.4 fantasy points against the Spurs on Jan. 7. He returns to Staples Center, although against the Lakers. I would imagine that some Clippers fans will still show up. The Lakers looked better against the Mavericks and the Pistons aren’t good, but Blake has been delivering. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good matchup and a high ceiling.

John Collins (at BKN – $8,100): Needs 34.7 fantasy points. Collins had 39.8 fantasy points against the Raptors on Tuesday. It’s a back-to-back for the Hawks, but Collins always has the energy to spare. And it’s the Nets. As much as I’ve liked their game this season, they struggle against the position. I’d like to see Collins at a slightly lesser salary, but he’s still a valuable addition to any lineup. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
