SALT LAKE CITY, UT – JANUARY 30: Joe Ingles /

High Value SG

Players costing $6,250 or under

Joe Ingles (vs LAL – $5,700): Needs 26 fantasy points. Welcome to the pairs slide. Ingles had 33 fantasy points against the Magic on Jan. 9. With Rubio out of the lineup, I expected him to step up with his passing and that’s what happened. And he found his shot, which is always a good thing. The Lakers defense is still a bit suspect and the Jazz offense is fairly consistent. Ingles will continue to play well and be a big part of the Jazz offense without Rubio. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.

Fred VanVleet (vs BKN – $5,200): Needs 24.1 fantasy points. VanVleet is still starting despite the Raptors getting healthy and it’s working out pretty well for him. His ceiling is more limited with a full Raptors lineup, but there’s something to be said for consistency. You can pair VanVleet with Lowry and know you’re going to get at least value with a good chance one of them hits nicely over given the matchup. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Kevin Huerter (at PHI – $4,700): Needs 21.4 fantasy points. And for our final pair, we have Huerter and Lin. They aren’t as reliable as VanVleet and Lowry, but maybe have a higher ceiling due to less talent around them. Huerter has been over 31 fantasy points in his last two games. And the Sixers are 29th against the position. There’s a bigger bust factor because of rookies. Diagnosis: Hot and a good ceiling and matchup.
