High Salary SF

Players costing over $6,667

Kevin Durant (vs CHI – $10,100): Needs 42.6 fantasy points. While I like Curry if this is a blowout, I don’t like Durant quite as much. It just seems like Curry contributes to blowouts while Durant contributes in the close games. It’s almost like Curry being better means the Warriors are better. Weird. If the game is competitive, take Durant with confidence. But I don’t think this game will be competitive. Diagnosis: Probably best to stay away unless you’re higher on the Bulls than literally everyone else in the world.

Kawhi Leonard (vs BKN – $9,600): Needs 40.5 fantasy points. Kawhi has been over 59 fantasy points in the last two games. The Raptors are getting healthy, but Kawhi continues to deliver with his scoring and passing numbers. He’s really boosting his value with his defense, which I expect to continue because he’s Kawhi. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Brandon Ingram (at UTA – $7,000): Needs 29.5 fantasy points. Ingram was down to 26.8 fantasy points against the Pistons on Jan. 9. He’s been up-and-down in his last four games. If the trend continues, he should be back up in this game. But I’m not a big fan of this matchup for him and I really don’t trust him. He’s just all over the place and not reliable in a single category. The ceiling remains high due to his role. Diagnosis: Good ceiling, but wildly inconsistent and a tough matchup.
