Players costing $6,250 or under

Jordan Clarkson (at LAL – $5,700): Needs 26.5 fantasy points. Not quite a revenge game for Clarkson because he’s played the Lakers in LA before. But this is his first time as the “lead” guy. I’m expecting a big game out of Clarkson. This is his chance to shine and he’s been playing fairly well as of late, Rockets game aside. The opportunities will certainly be there. Diagnosis: High ceiling and I love the matchup.

Austin Rivers (at ORL – $4,900): Needs 22.8 fantasy points. Rivers was down to 19.5 fantasy points against the Cavaliers on Jan. 11, but only played 24 minutes in the blowout. The Magic might not make things all that competitive as they are on a back-to-back, but at least they are at home. Rivers typically gets plenty of minutes and opportunities. That won’t change here. Diagnosis: A tad inconsistent but a good ceiling.

Jalen Brunson (vs GS – $3,800): Needs 17.7 fantasy points. With Barea lost for the season and Smith Jr. never being certain, Brunson should get big minutes once again. He’s shown a high ceiling this season and the minutes should definitely be there for him in this one. He’s not going to hurt you at this salary and he has a chance at a big game due to the circumstances. Diagnosis: Reliable due to salary and a high ceiling due to circumstances.
