DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – January 13, 2019
High Value SG
Players costing $6,250 or under
Alec Burks (at LAL – $5,100): Needs 23.7 fantasy points. Burks had 34.25 fantasy points against the Rockets on Jan. 11. He’s been playing well for the Cavaliers and rarely lacks for minutes. He’s more reliable than Jordan Clarkson, but his ceiling isn’t quite as high because he doesn’t shoot without a conscious. But he does a bit of everything and the matchup is obviously good. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
Malik Beasley (vs POR – $4,400): Needs 20.5 fantasy points. Beasley had 25.25 fantasy points against the Suns on Saturday. He’s been playing well for the Nuggets as of late and with Will Barton still working his way back into the lineup, Beasley should continue to get minutes. The back-to-back is worrying and Beasley did play 40 minutes on Saturday, but he’s earned the benefit of the doubt. Diagnosis: There are red flags. But he’s a guy who typically gets guaranteed minutes at a low salary.
Terrence Ross (vs HOU – $4,300): Needs 19.7 fantasy points. Ross had 37 fantasy points against the Celtics on Saturday. His value is still tied to his scoring, but he’s scoring well lately and the Rockets defense is not all that great. It’s a back-to-back for the Magic, which always worries me, but I’m going to trust that Ross will continue to score. He won’t lack for shots at the very least. Diagnosis: A bit inconsistent, but a good ceiling.
