High Value PG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Collin Sexton (at LAL – $4,600): Needs 19.6 fantasy points. Sexton had 28.1 fantasy points against the Rockets on Jan. 11. He isn’t getting the minutes that he used to get, mainly because the Cavaliers now have 18 guards on their roster. But he’s still getting solid enough minutes and plenty of opportunities. The matchup is a good one and minutes do count for something at this salary. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a decent ceiling.

Cameron Payne (at LAL – $3,900): Needs 15.8 fantasy points. It’s another Cavaliers guard. Payne had 30.3 fantasy points against the Rockets on Jan. 11. He’s never really put it all together, but maybe he’ll get a real chance in Cleveland. The matchup is a good one, but Payne isn’t guaranteed to get minutes. I have no clue what to make of the Cavaliers guard rotation at the moment, but Payne won’t hurt you at this salary. Diagnosis: Good ceiling, but no minutes guarantee.

Jalen Brunson (vs GS – $3,700): Needs 15.8 fantasy points. With no Barea and DSJ being questionable seemingly every game at this point, Brunson has a big opportunity in this one. He’s done well when he has gotten minutes this season and shown a high ceiling. The circumstances are very good for him to deliver a strong game. Diagnosis: Take him with confidence if DSJ doesn’t play. Even if DSJ plays, he’ll get the backup PG minutes and opportunities.
