DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – January 14, 2019
High Salary C
Players costing over $6,250
Andre Drummond (at UTA – $8,700): Needs 41.6 fantasy points. Drummond had 54.25 fantasy points against the Clippers on Jan. 12. He had 45.5 fantasy points against the Jazz on Jan. 5. I’m torn between Drummond and Julius Radle in this spot. Both have proven matchups and Randle won’t hurt you as much due to his lesser salary. But Drummond just seems to play well against Gobert. He’s inconsistent, but the ceiling is high. Diagnosis: If you want to save money, take Randle. If you want to take a risk, take Drummond.
Jusuf Nurkic (at SAC – $8,600): Needs 41.1 fantasy points. Nurkic had 82.75 fantasy points when these two teams met on Jan. 1. He probably won’t hit those numbers in this game, but the potential is obviously there for him. He’s typically reliable with his scoring and rebounding. It is a back-to-back for the Blazers, but this is just a proven matchup for him. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a very high ceiling.
Marc Gasol (at HOU – $7,300): Needs 34.9 fantasy points. Gasol is reliable, especially against this matchup and at this salary. He and Capela typically give you around the same production, but Gasol costs less and he has the higher ceiling as the Rockets are on a back-to-back and could have tired legs. Gasol should be able to hurt them in the paint and turn in another solid outing. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.
