DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – January 14, 2019
High Salary PG
Players costing over $6,250
Donovan Mitchell (vs DET – $9,200): Needs 42.7 fantasy points. Mitchell has been over 50 fantasy points in his last three games. As I’ve been saying for the past three games, I love his game with Rubio out of the lineup. He’s been scoring the ball as well as he has all season while also chipping in with rebounds and assists. The matchup is a good one and Mitchell should be in for another big night. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
Kyrie Irving (at BKN – $9,000): Needs 42 fantasy points. Kyrie is listed as questionable heading into this game and typically I stay away from anyone on the injury report. But I have to talk about Kyrie for a second. If he plays, he’s going to have a huge game. You don’t call out your teammates like he did and then not deliver a big performance in the next game. Especially with this matchup. Obviously, if he doesn’t play, he won’t deliver. And if he doesn’t play, another high salary option would be Mike Conley (typically reliable) and you should take Terry Rozier with confidence since he’ll draw the start. Diagnosis: Take the Celtics starting point guard. Whether it’s Kyrie or Rozier.
Damian Lillard (at SAC – $8,800): Needs 41.1 fantasy points. Lillard had 41.5 fantasy points against the Nuggets on Sunday. He’s been inconsistent in recent contests, but we know the ceiling is there and I do like this matchup for him due to the Kings pace. He had 41. Fantasy points against the Blazers on Jan. 1. Even if he hasn’t been delivering big game, he’s getting you solid production and not turning in dud games. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
