20. Adrian Peterson

Peterson lingered without a team into August last year, before the Redskins lost rookie Derrius Guice to a torn ACL and came calling. “All Day” showed he something left in the tank, topping 1,000 yards on the ground for the eighth time in his career (1,042 yards) with seven touchdowns as he averaged a solid 4.2 yards per carry.

Peterson has said he would “love” to return to the Redskins, but their level of interest is directly tied to Guice’s progress. He’ll also turn 34 in March, and his 2018 campaign was a surprise resurgence after a bad and injury-shortened 2017 season split between the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals. Despite his continued assertions about how long he can play, there will skeptics he can can it going in 2019.

"If you watch football, if you know anything about football, then you know that he’s still got a lot left,” Peterson, who turns 34 in March, said of himself. “If you can’t see that, you’re blind."

If nothing else, coming off a healthy and productive campaign for Washington, Peterson shouldn’t linger available this offseason for nearly as long as he did the previous two. Anything more than a one-year deal would be a surprise, but the opportunity for another 1,000-yard season (and a spot in the top-five on the NFL’s all-time rushing list) is definitely on Peterson’s radar.
