High Salary C

Players costing over $6,667

Karl-Anthony Towns (at PHI – $11,200): Needs 50 fantasy points. Towns had 78.9 fantasy points against the Pelicans on Jan. 12. Aside from a game against the Thunder where foul trouble limited him, he’s been outstanding during this recent stretch. This game will tell us a lot about Towns. Either he goes right at Butler, Embiid and the Sixers or he’s everything Butler hated about him. I’m going to trust angry Towns. Diagnosis: Could truly go either way. He’ll make or break your lineup on Tuesday.

Nikola Jokic (vs GS – $11,100): Needs 49.6 fantasy points. Jokic had 61 fantasy points against the Blazers on Jan. 13. He’s been very good for the Nuggets for the majority of this season. He had 43.2 fantasy points against the Warriors on Oct. 21 but that was a different Jokic. The Warriors still have issues at center, which has me feeling good about Jokic on Tuesday. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a very high ceiling.

Joel Embiid (vs MIN – $11,100): Needs 49.6 fantasy points. It’s all chalk for the center position. That’s what happens when the centers are this good and the matchups are favorable. The only concern with Embiid is that Butler tries to do way too much and it means Embiid gets to do a lot less. Even though I expect a big game out of Butler, Embiid should be there to pick up any slack. And maybe Butler is feeling generous. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.
