2. Trade for Bradley Beal

In regards to star hunting at the 2019 NBA Trade Deadline, the name most have circled for the Lakers is Anthony Davis, and rightfully so. However, Davis is not the only potential star that they could make a move for. There’s a player in Washington wasting away in the debacle that is the 2018-19 Wizards right now and that could really use a change of scenery: Bradley Beal.

Even with the mess in the Wizards locker room this season and even with John Wall out recently and set to miss the rest of the season, Beal has performed phenomenally this year. The Florida product is averaging 24.8 points, five rebounds, five assists and 1.3 steals in 37.1 minutes per game while shooting 47.3 percent overall and 35.7 percent on his 3-point attempts, the latter actually being a low mark in his career.

Beal is the star mold of what they need on the perimeter moving forward and a player that could be more than just a band-aid for those problems. His outside shooting and defensive abilities would be the best LA could ask for in this trade market while he would also have more than just the rest of the 2018-19 season with the Lakers.

Even better for Los Angeles, they wouldn’t have to give up the king’s ransom it would likely take to get Anthony Davis in order to get Beal. With the state of the Wizards right now, it’s clear they want to make a change, which really takes away their leverage in a potential Beal trade. Thus, the Lakers could potentially give up Ingram, cap-filler and a first-round pick and get a deal done.
