2019 NFL mock draft: Kyler Murray lands with Redskins
By Brad Weiss
The Miami Dolphins will have a new head coach for the 2019 NFL season, as they got rid of Adam Gase after another losing season in South Beach. Gase landed on his feet, signing on to be the head coach of the New York Jets, and will now get to face his old team two times per season starting in 2019.
The Dolphins have their eyes set on New England Patriots defensive coach Brian Flores, who handles the play-calling duties for the Pats. The problem is, Flores is still involved in the playoffs, as his Patriots throttled the Los Angeles Chargers in the Divisional Round this past Sunday, adding another impressive win to his resume.
If the Dolphins to bring in Flores, it would make sense that he would spend his first pick on the defense, and they need help on the edges. One player who could hear his name called in the first half of the NFL Draft is Montez Sweat from Mississippi State, who has the talent to be an elite edge rusher at the next level.
Miami does need a quarterback, but they were recently reported to be looking at the 2020 NFL Draft to get their guy, as players like Justin Herbert from Oregon, and Tua Tagovailoa from Alabama will be available among others. The Dolphins were a playoff team two years ago, and the hope is that some new blood can get them pointed in the right direction.
