The Washington Redskins looked like the best team in the NFC East for most of the first half of the season, as quarterback Alex Smith was playing well in his first season with the team. In addition, veteran running back Adrian Peterson was defying age, leading the team to first place in the division early on.

However, Smith suffered a gruesome injury against the Houston Texans later on in the season, and the team had to roll with guys like Josh Johnson and Mark Sanchez the rest of the way. It is still unclear as to whether the injury to Smith is a career-ending one, so the team may have to look to the draft to find his successor.

On Monday, it officially happened, as Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray declared for the 2019 NFL Draft. Of course, Murray does have three weeks to pull out, but all signs are pointing to the fact that he is going to give it a go in the game of football, a sport he absolutely dominated at the college level in 2018.

Murray was an explosive player for the Sooners, racking up over 4,000 yards passing, and 1,000 yards rushing, as he became the second straight Oklahoma quarterback to win the Heisman Trophy (Baker Mayfield). He is going to be a special player at the next level, but he is undersized, so it will be interesting to see where he falls in April.
