2019 NFL mock draft: Kyler Murray lands with Redskins
By Brad Weiss
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a big splash at the head coach position this past week, as they brought in former Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians. During his short retirement, Arians stated that he would only coach again if it was for the Cleveland Browns, though that proved to be a lie based on the fact he signed on with Tampa Bay.
Arians will now be tasked with turning around a Buccaneers team that has a lot of talent, but cannot seem to make headway in a loaded NFC South division. All along, Tampa Bay stated that whoever takes over as head coach would have to roll with Jameis Winston as the quarterback, so it will be interesting to see how that relationship takes shape.
When he is right, Winston has the talent to be a standout quarterback at the NFL level, but he has just been way too inconsistent on, and off the field during his time in the pros. In Arians, he has a head coach who is not going to deal with any nonsense, and you can be sure that if anyone can get the best out of him, it is his new head coach.
On the defensive side of the ball, Tampa Bay needs help, especially in the secondary, and that is where they should focus their first round pick. Andraez “Greedy” Williams is the best cornerback this draft class has to offer, and with the Bucs, he would be a guy who could absolutely lead the position group, turning a weakness into a strength.
