The Jacksonville Jaguars had a team that should have made an impact in the AFC Playoffs this past season, though they just did not have the right quarterback under center. A year after making the AFC Championship Game, the Jaguars were one of the worst teams in the AFC in 2018, and have to go back to the drawing board to find a quarterback this offseason.

It seems likely that the Blake Bortles Era as the starting quarterback in Jacksonville is over, and even he could see the writing on the wall at the end of the season. He had the talent around him to do something special in Jacksonville, and while he did bring his team to an AFC title game, that had more to do with the other guys.

Looking at this draft class,  there are a couple of quarterbacks who could go in the first round, though the entire class does not have the total talent that 2018 did. Still, a guy like Drew Lock could make all the throws at the NFL level, and has spent the last two seasons picking apart some elite SEC defenses.

The Jaguars are a team that do not have to hit a reset button, and you can be sure that Tom Coughlin is going to have this team as a contender in the AFC South next season. That division is loaded, sending two teams to the playoffs this year, so the Jaguars cannot afford to take another step back this offseason.
