High Salary SG

Players costing over $6,250

James Harden (vs BKN – $13,000): Needs 60.6 fantasy points. How high can Harden’s salary climb before you have pause in taking him? This is a very high salary, up $600 from his last game, and yet I still trust him. With all the injuries, he has a green spotlight. His assist numbers will probably remain a bit low, but his scoring numbers are going to be otherworldly for the time being. Diagnosis: It’s a big commitment. But you can rest easy knowing you’re getting 65-plus fantasy points.

Luka Doncic (vs SA – $8,400): Needs 38.5 fantasy points. Doncic continues to be an outstanding option for the Mavericks. With DSJ and Barea out of the lineup, he’s had to pick up his game and he’s delivered. He had 50 fantasy points against the Spurs on Oct. 29, although that was a different Spurs team. Still, I see no reason to doubt Doncic given what he’s done this year. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

DeMar DeRozan (at DAL – $8,100): Needs 37.1 fantasy points. DeRozan was down to 26.75 fantasy points against the Hornets on Jan. 14. He’s been a bit inconsistent in recent weeks, but I’m willing to give him this game to prove himself. The Mavericks aren’t a good defensive team and DeRozan is too good of a scorer to continue down this path. He’ll find his game at some point. Diagnosis: A gut feeling that he bounces back in this one.
