DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – January 16, 2019
High Value PF
Players costing $6,250 or under
Serge Ibaka (at BOS – $6,000): Needs 28.2 fantasy points. Ibaka was down to 19 fantasy points against the Wizards on Jan. 13. He hasn’t been great recently, which is a tad worrying, but there are some positive signs coming into this one. First, the Celtics are a mess. Second, he plays well against them, going over 31 fantasy points in four straight games against Boston. I’m going to trust this matchup. Diagnosis: Proven matchup and a good ceiling.
Derrick Favors (at LAC – $5,300): Needs 24.9 fantasy points. Favors has been down in three of his last four games, but I love this matchup for him. The Clippers size should lead to more minutes for him and he’s always a double-double threat. And if Joe Ingles is out, Favors should have more opportunities as a result. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.
DeMarre Carroll (at HOU – $5,000): Needs 22.9 fantasy points. Carroll had 34 fantasy points against the Celtics and that was on a very rough shooting night. He does a bit of everything and is hopefully back in form after a couple of rough games against the Hawks and Raptors. It’s a good matchup and I’m not fully sold on Houston with all the injuries. The performance on Monday probably had more to do with the Grizzlies being a mess than the Rockets being in form. And James Harden. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
