High Value C

Players costing $6,667 or under

Jarrett Allen (at HOU – $6,500): Needs 28.9 fantasy points. Allen had 48.4 fantasy points against the Celtics on Jan. 14. He’s been good during this recent stretch but does have a habit of disappearing too much and his minutes shrinking. But I love this matchup for him with Capela out. His energy should really hurt the Rockets on Wednesday. He’s typically good for rebounds and points and always comes up with multiple defensive plays. Diagnosis: High ceiling but a tad inconsistent.

Tristan Thompson (at POR – $6,400): Needs 28.4 fantasy points. Thompson had 38.3 fantasy points against the Lakers on Jan. 13. It was a good bounce-back performance from him after a couple of rough outings. As always, the minutes and opportunities will be there because the Cavaliers need points and rebounds from someone in the frontcourt and Thompson is by far their best option. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.

Brook Lopez (at MEM – $5,400): Needs 24 fantasy points. Lopez had 23.6 fantasy points against the Heat on Tuesday. It was a blowout for the Bucks but he still played 25 minutes. The opportunities are always there for him on the Bucks and this is a good matchup because the Grizzlies are just a mess right now and don’t seem to like each other very much. Diagnosis: Reliable if nothing else but also has a decent ceiling.
