FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – January 16, 2019
High Salary SF
Players costing over $6,667
Giannis Antetokounmpo (at MEM – $11,500): Needs 48.4 fantasy points. Giannis had 46 fantasy points in 25 minutes against the Heat on Tuesday. Oh yeah, it was a triple-double. He’s unreal right now and even in blowouts, he’s doing enough to justify the salary. There are no doubts when it comes to Giannis. Maybe his ceiling isn’t as high as Harden but he’s just as reliable and on a lesser salary. And we know he is capable of big games. Diagnosis: You can always build around Giannis with confidence.
Kawhi Leonard (at BOS – $9,800): Needs 41.3 fantasy points. I don’t know what’s going on in Boston but I do know what’s going on in Toronto and it’s all good stuff, especially when it comes to Kawhi. He was up to 73.7 fantasy points against the Wizards on Jan. 13. This is a big game and a chance for the Raptors to really bury the Celtics. And I would imagine that Kawhi will step up as a result. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a very high ceiling.
Danilo Gallinari (vs UTA – $7,400): Needs 31.2 fantasy points. Gallinari continues to be a reliable option. He was at 40.8 fantasy points against the Pelicans on Jan. 14. His scoring numbers are typically there and he’ll chip in with either rebounds or assists. It’s a tough matchup, but Gallinari has been good all season so I see no reason to doubt him heading into this game. Your only other option is Kevin Durant and he’s in a similar boat (reliable with a high ceiling), he just costs more. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
